About

Dustin is a proud first-generation college student and holds a bachelor’s, master’s, and a doctorate in leadership-related fields. Originally from Warren, Michigan, Dustin enjoys boating, hiking, DIY projects, and writing in his spare time.

Welcome. Glad you’re here.

My name is Dustin Grabsch, and I serve students, faculty, and staff as the assistant vice president for university initiatives at The University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson, TX, USA. I am a pracademic, collaborator, and researcher.

I have held academic and student affairs positions at various universities, including Southern Methodist University, Texas A&M University, Seattle University, University of Arkansas, and Texas Tech University.

Driven by a relentless curiosity, I consider myself a pracademic (someone who is both an academic and an active practitioner in their subject area). I have led multiple research teams within student affairs and academic affairs to improve the profession and student experience. The evidence my social science research team provides has guided and informed higher education policy and practice.
